Amazon Find Friday

Starting a fun new series today, where I’ll share all my favorite Amazon finds. I order SO much from Amazon these days. Things for me, my husband, our baby boy, and our home! Amazon really has everything, but sometimes you have to do some virtual digging! Tune in on Fridays to see my favorites! Here are my top five today, all things I’ve ordered recently! They're all linked for easy shopping.

These 32oz amber glass bottles arrived the other day and they are great quality. I have switched our laundry detergent recently, and I am using these bottles for soap storage. They are working great!

I recently ordered this ball (in the 65cm) for labor, and it is great. I've been bouncing and rolling around on it every day since I got it. It actually lives in our living room currently and is my go-to chair. I'm looking forward to having it in the delivery room.
LOVE these burp cloths. They are so big and really soft too, and the price point is just the best. I have two packs already, and if I need any more, these are the ones I'll be getting.
This ginger spread is a favorite around the house. It's great on toast and ginger is good for so many things.
This blender bottle is amazing! I got it for Chris recently, and we both love it. It's insulated so it keeps the hot drinks hot, and the cold drinks cold! We will be ordering more!

Choosing Our Baby’s Name

Today I'm finally sharing our little boy's name. It took us so long to decide, and there was definitely a lot of back and forth, but in the end we chose Asher Robert. A name is such a huge decision, especially for first time parents I think. We wanted his name to be strong, meaningful, and a little unique. We went through every list known to man, and a couple books before we finally decided.

Hebrew in origin, meaning Happy, Blessed, and Fortunate. The meaning is what really sold me on this name. I love that it's a little unique, and although it's classified as trendy, it's actually a really old, classic name from the bible. Asher was one of Jacob's sons, one of Abraham's grandsons.
We hope and pray that our Asher is blessed and happy, and that in all that he does he brings happiness and blessings to others.

A German name meaning famed, shining, and bright. I love the meaning, but really this name means so much more to me. Robert was my Grandfather, my Papa. He was the greatest man, my biggest cheerleader and supporter growing up. He taught me so much about life. He was a good, good man and when I found out I was going to have a son, I knew I wanted to somehow give him a piece of my Papa. I constantly feel him looking down on me and guiding me through this life, and I can't help but think he is already watching over Asher. I feel so proud to pass this name on to him, and I can't wait to teach him why it's so special.

Fit Friday No.1 (Pregnancy Recap)

Here we are in 2019, it's the end of January, and before I let the whole month get away from me, I thought I'd share a little. Last year I made a commitment to document my fitness journey. This commitment ended sometime in early summer, when I found out I was pregnant, and quickly lost all energy for anything fitness related. The first five months of last year were really life changing for me though. I was able to gain a ton of muscle, while still losing almost 30 pounds and over 12 inches. Doing this helped me in so many ways, and I am so thankful I was able to get in decent shape before getting pregnant.
Fast forward, the first few months of pregnancy hit hard, and I didn't step foot in the gym for a little over two months. At 16 weeks I was able to make it to the gym, on occasion, and I was able to add in long (2-3 mile) walks/jogs around my neighborhood a couple days a week. Around 22 weeks I was back pretty full force in the gym, probably getting in 3-4 really good workouts a week and still doing some walks outdoors during the week.
Here I am now, at 38 weeks pregnant. My gym membership officially went on hold this week. (The gym is expensive and I'm not paying for it if I'm not using it!) I'm sad that I won't get to spend the next couple weeks lifting weights, but I plan to still walk 4-5 days a week until this little guy decides to show up.
Now let me drop a little truth, especially if you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This wasn't easy. I have been busting my butt, and going even when I'm tired, although definitely listening to my body and stopping when needed. I did all of this with the approval of my doctor, and I couldn't have done it had I not had those several months of foundation in the gym before. That being said, it has been the most amazing thing for me physically, but especially mentally. I feel great, I feel accomplished, and I feel excited about getting my body back. I feel confident and strong enough to go through labor. I have gained less than 20 pounds this whole pregnancy, and this baby is at least 7 and a half of those pounds!

I am excited to welcome this little boy into the world, and I'm excited to begin the journey of getting my body back in even better shape than it was before. The best part of this whole journey and process, is that instead of feeling pressured to get back, I'm excited for it. Thats what weight lifting has done for me. I'll be taking a little hiatus, but stick with me this year as I share my journey to my best shape ever.

My Storybook Baby Shower

I'm so excited to finally share my beautiful storybook baby shower with you all! First of all, this shower was an absolute dream. I couldn't have imagined it better. Second, I get zero credit for this. I did absolutely nothing but give an idea of a theme I liked, and show up! Thank you to my wonderful friends, Lea, Karen, and Kyleigh, for making this all come together so beautifully.

Thank you to B's Sweet Treats for the beautiful cake and cookies!

This day was truly a magical dream come true. We were showered with so much love, and so many gifts for our little boy. I wish I could relive it everyday!
