Girl Chat: Reintroductions

This year, I'm joining a little "girl chat" link up! I love link ups and meeting new blogger friends through them. Today's topic.. Reintroductions!
I don't know that I really ever did an introduction post to begin with, so here it goes!
Hi! I'm Megan. I'm 29 and live right in the center of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. I love everything southern, except for the football teams! I'm a huge football fan and my football heart lives in Colorado. My family also has a cabin in Colorado, where my dad lives most of the year, so it's close to my heart for more reasons than football!
I am a nanny to two sweet boys who are two and four. They keep me busy, but we have a lot of fun, and I love my job!
In October of 2015 I married Chris. We are best friends, and we were actually friends for over ten years before we began dating. Even though we're a normal couple and annoy each other at times, it is so fun being married to someone who's just my absolute best friend. I love the idea of starting a family and growing old with him. I just feel so blessed to have found my perfect fit, and its crazy to think that God began writing our love story so many years before we had any idea.
A few things I love
Music. I enjoy most genres, and in any given day (really in any one car ride) I can go from classic rock, to worship music, to rap, to pop, to country. Chris and I go to as many concerts as we can. I have no idea how many we've been to, but it's a bunch!
Writing. I write down everything. Cute little journals and note pads are the key to my heart! I am a total list maker, note taker, thought jotter, and (attempted) book author. This is what led me down the road to blogging, and boy have I fallen in love with writing here.
Interior design and decor. Since being married, I have loved making our living spaces feel like home through decor. Since we are currently talking about and beginning to look for our first home to purchase, I am deep into researching renovations we will want to do and how I will want to design and decorate a larger space.
Cooking. I have come such a long way in just a couple of years. I think I love that I've accomplished how to cook more than the actual task of it, but I love coming up with new recipes.
Hosting. I can't wait to have a bigger space and host for everything I possibly can, but in the mean time, I just host smaller amounts of people as often as the opportunity presents its self.
Travel. I love exploring, even more so now that I'm married. Last year we went to Mexico, and we are excited to visit a few new places this year together. First up is a road trip to Florida in a couple of months!

That's all for now! I'd love if you would introduce yourself down in the comments!!
Linking up with Emily!

  1. Thank you so much for linking up with us, Megan! It is so nice to meet you and get to learn a little bit more about you. I love that you are a nanny. I have two boys the same age and I know how much of a handful they can be. I also love all things home decor and have my husband working on a new wood wall project for out home that I hope to share more about soon. Sierra~Beautifully Candid

  2. I love how you were best friends with your husband before dating. That is one of the best foundations to a marriage. Thanks for linking up with us!

  3. Nice to meet you through the reintroductions link up! I write absolutely everything down, too, and also really enjoy hosting people at our house. I love that maxi dress in your picture! Hope you have a great rest of the week. :)

  4. I feel like marrying your best friend is key! Makes the best relationships! Thanks so much for linking up!

    1. It is the best! Thanks so much for saying hi! Looking forward to following you more and linking up throughout the year!

  5. I found another Texan blogger - yey! I am British but went to Texas A&M so I am happy to have found your blog. You like nice stationary and Mexican food too so I will be keeping up with your blog! Europafox x

    1. So glad you'd say hi! I hope you'll subscribe and stay in touch!!

  6. I also have a special place in my heart for journaling and list-making! That's pretty cool that you got to be friends with your husband for so long before you were together! My husband and I were friends first, and had a lot of mutual friends, and actually some of our friends never even noticed/realized once we were together until we handed them our wedding invitation and they were so confused! ha! I'd love to go to Mexico with my husband someday!
