Texas State Fair Fun

A couple weekends ago we ventured out to the Texas State Fair. It was opening weekend, the weather was nice, and we knew it would be hard to find time the rest of the month, so we just decided to go on a whim. We purchased a deal online that included our tickets and 100 food/ride tickets. If you are going, I highly recommend doing this. We ended up using exactly 100 tickets, so we didn't have to spend any money at the fair except for $10 to park. Plus, when you purchase online, both your tickets and the food/ride tickets are discounted. I think it saved us around $20!

This was Chris' first time to the State Fair. I'm not sure how thats even possible, but he was excited to be there, and I was excited to show him how fun it is!
Of course we had to get a selfie with Big Tex.
The ferris wheel is HUGE! We opted not to ride it. For me, if you've done it once, there's really no need to do it again. It's a cool view of the city and the fair, but I had seen it, and ferris wheels are just not Chris' thing. We did the little sky tram ride instead. It was pretty cool.
First Fletchers corny dog!
We tried the Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger. It was so very messy, but surprisingly tasty. I was disappointed in the cheese, but I'm kind of picky.
We also tried the Fried Spaghetti and Meatballs. It's essentially a giant meatball stuffed with spaghetti and then deep fried so it's nice and crispy on the outside. It was actually really good. Way too big, we probably only ate a fourth of it, but good.
We had a blast!

What's your favorite thing about the fair!?
What's the craziest fair food you've tried!?
