Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

We celebrated last weekend, at a costume party with a bunch of friends, and I thought I'd share some fun treats I made for the occasion!

These "bloody band-aids" were super fast and easy to make, with just a little white icing and some red icing gel squeezed on top. All the kids ate these up quick, and I ended up making a second batch before the party even started. Good thing they were so easy to make!

6 Tips For Your First Time in Mexico

We're back from Mexico, and although by the end of the trip we were so ready to be home, we had an absolute blast. Leading up to this trip, I had a ton of emotions. This was our first trip to Mexico, and no matter what I did I couldn't help but feel anxious and unprepared. I am the kind of person that likes to plan absolutely everything! Sometimes this is good, and other times it just sucks. I thought I would share a few things I learned on this trip. Hopefully if you're an over thinker/worrier like me this will help you out a little bit.

Whats Up Wednesday!

I decided I'd participate in a little link up this morning hosted by some bloggers I really look up to! One Wednesday a month they host this link up to catch up on whats been going on!
Here we go!

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK..
We just got in from Mexico late last night, so the first half of the week consisted of a lot of seafood. Tuna Ceviche (pictured) from a fresh tuna that Chris caught! I'm about to go pick up groceries this morning and am making heaping pots of Beef and Veggie Stew and Jambalaya for the rest of the week!

Our Wedding Pt.2

Our Wedding Day! It totally sounds cliche but this was the absolute best day ever. From start to finish, despite anything that went wrong, every aspect was truly perfect. I remember just being so happy that the day had finally come, and so ready to celebrate our love with everyone. The whole day, I stayed so relaxed, and so focused on taking in each and every detail. It was the most magical day. I hope you are enjoying this little walk down memory lane with me today, as we celebrate two years that have absolutely flown by.

Our Wedding Pt. 1

Since our second wedding anniversary is next week, and we are currently living it up in Mexico, I thought I would share a few of my favorite photos and memories throughout our engagement and on our wedding day. There are a lot, so I'll be breaking this up into two posts. This one is everything leading up to the big day! We had a whirlwind 10 month engagement, that flew by! These months are still so special to me. I hope you'll come down memory lane with me!

Fit Friday No.5 (2017)

I haven't done a Fit Friday post in awhile, so I thought I'd do one this week and share my progress.

I've really taken the past month to just quietly do work. I spent a couple months over the summer making lots of changes to the way we do things. We significantly cut down on the eating out, switched to heavier lunches and lighter dinners, I changed my breakfast to a high protein smoothie, and I got rid of sweets in our house. I began meal prepping on Sundays so there would be no excuse for not eating healthy foods throughout the week, and I also started grocery shopping online, so there would be no temptation to get anything not on the list. I don't know if I really even realized how many changes I was making at the time, but it was a lot. Our life and our habits six months ago are so far gone. I only realized today, that I haven't cooked any kind of pasta in over six months. The best part, I didn't even realize. That's awesome.

Our Fall Home Decor

We've started decorating our little apartment for fall. Even though the summer heat will probably stay another month, I just couldn't wait any longer. The Christmas season comes earlier each year, and I feel like there just isn't enough time to celebrate fall. There is so much I love about the season, I could talk about it for hours. Cooler days, fall fashion, evenings spent on patios and around bonfires, pumpkin patches and outdoor dates, are just a few of my favorite things. I love Halloween and Thanksgiving too! I talked here a month or so ago about how we make our little apartment feel like home, and seasonal decorating is a huge help in this. These are a few of our fall decorations.
I picked this up at Hobby Lobby the other day. I love football season so I couldn't resist!

Texas State Fair Fun

A couple weekends ago we ventured out to the Texas State Fair. It was opening weekend, the weather was nice, and we knew it would be hard to find time the rest of the month, so we just decided to go on a whim. We purchased a deal online that included our tickets and 100 food/ride tickets. If you are going, I highly recommend doing this. We ended up using exactly 100 tickets, so we didn't have to spend any money at the fair except for $10 to park. Plus, when you purchase online, both your tickets and the food/ride tickets are discounted. I think it saved us around $20!

October goals!

It's finally October! I have been counting down the days for as long as I can remember. I love everything about October. For me, it's the best time of the year. There are so many things to do outdoors, and it's the beginning of a season of holidays.

Each month I like to put together my goals for the month, as well as reflect on last month's goals. This post is a fun and easy way to keep track of it all, and it also helps to keep me accountable.

September goals
Get everything bought/planned/packed for Mexico.
Almost everything has been purchased for our Mexico trip. I have a small list of last minute items to pick up this week. Then we will be done!
Attend (and blog about) the Austin bachelorette trip.
I attended my friend's bachelorette party in Austin, but I probably won't blog about it. Honestly, I don't want to relive it. (Drama!)
